How to win lane as Kassadin against Cassiopeia · 42% win rate (100 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
If her damage is magic, your Q eats it — if it's physical, this is a real lane. Either way: level 6 changes everything.
Track: Cassiopeia's W — Miasma (24–16s cooldown). Grounds you — dashes and leaps are disabled inside it.
Read from Kassadin's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Cassiopeia.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | At level 1 you each have one ability and neither can commit — but her Noxious Blast already out-ranges your Null Sphere, so it's even only because there's no kill threat yet. |
| Level 2 | Cassiopeia | She adds Miasma for a poison cloud that grounds and zones you off the wave, and you have no answer but to last-hit through the chip. |
| Level 3 | Cassiopeia | Twin Fang recycles every 0.75s and hits far harder once her poison is on me, so dodging Noxious Blast is what actually blunts the trade. |
| Levels 4-5 | Cassiopeia | Nether Blade refills your mana but her poke still chunks you faster than you sustain — farm under tower and never all-in into her poison. |
| Level 6 | Cassiopeia | At 6 Petrifying Gaze stuns me whenever I face her, and Miasma's 24-second cloud grounds Riftwalk - she owns every all-in. |
| First item | Cassiopeia | Her Liandry's/Malignance spike makes the poison lethal while your Rod of Ages stall is barely online — keep surviving, shoving, and roaming. |
| Two+ items | Kassadin | Only in the deep-scaling window does Riftwalk maxed plus Rabadon's let your blink-burst finally out-trade her kite — blink from outside her Miasma and delete her before the poison ramps. |
Cassiopeia simply out-ranges and out-poisons you here — her Noxious Blast (Q) is a long-range poison nuke and her Miasma (W) lays a cloud that poisons AND grounds, while your Null Sphere shield only blanks one incoming spell and briefly silences. Do not try to walk up and Q her; you eat two ticks of poison and a Twin Fang for every orb you land. Last-hit at max range, take the chip, and accept that levels 1-3 belong to her. Your Void Stone 15% magic reduction softens the poison a little, but it does not make trading even — it just lets you survive farming under threat.
