Sylas is a slow, dash-less melee at levels 1-3 with no E to close the gap, so this is free real estate for your gate-Q -- fire Shock Blast through the Acceleration Gate at every last-hit and chunk him before more than one rank of W (Kingslayer) is online to heal it back. When he walks up, hit him with Cannon-Q, R-swap to Hammer for the armor/MR shred on the first auto, and follow with E-W if he stays. Just respect that his Q (Chain Lash) and W are his burst-and-heal tools: poke him faster than he can recover, and don't dump everything into a fight he can W back up from.
