How to win lane as Jayce against Quinn · 57.26% win rate over 475 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Jayce | I take Cannon Q and outrange her auto poke at level 1 — last-hit at max Q range and do not facecheck her step-up. |
| Level 2 | Jayce | Unlocking E turns Shock Blast into the accelerated gate-Q that outranges her Vault, so I poke her free when she walks up. |
| Level 3 | Jayce | Full kit online: Cannon-Q into swap-shred into Hammer To-the-Skies and Thundering Blow bursts her, and she has no sustain to recover the chunk. |
| Levels 4-5 | Jayce | I still win the poke war because she must enter gate-Q range to farm and cannot out-trade my swap-shred burst. |
| Level 6 | Quinn | Her spike, not mine — my R is just the stance-swap, while her R move speed and Harrier dodge my knockback and let her roam. |
| First item | Jayce | My Eclipse/Manamune outpaces her first buy, so I force the all-in on her Vault cooldown before she can kite it. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | It evens out: my squishy frame and falling caster damage let her Vault break my engage and blind my autos as she scales. |
Quinn is one of the ranged kiters who can theoretically out-poke me, but here I get to swing first: at Level 2-3 my gate-Q (Shock Blast fired through Acceleration Gate) outranges her auto and Vault poke, so I chunk her every time she steps up to last-hit. The trap is her Vault — it knocks me out of my engage and the Harrier mark blinds my follow-up autos, so never commit a Hammer trade into it. Bait the Vault, and the instant it is down, Cannon-Q, swap for the Armor/MR shred, then Hammer in with To the Skies and Thundering Blow. She has no sustain to heal what I poke off.
