How to win the jungle race as Morgana against Shyvana · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Morgana's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Shyvana.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Even Skirmish | Neither side cleanly wins level 1 — Inferno Aegis-stacked clear speed lets her out-farm and out-scale your early pressure, but the W camp-melt is elite tempo; champion fights are not — clear and bank it. Trade only from full health; the first mis-step decides this, not the kits. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Even Skirmish | Even on the second camp: Dark Binding is gank bait, not duel material; refuse the river 1v1, and with one camp still up on both sides neither of you can force it. Invade her early and often — she has no CC and no escape before six, and contest the second buff only with the health lead. |
| Level 3 Route | Even Skirmish | Dead-even at the opening scuttle: Black Shield protects a teammate's gank — your duel stats remain poor, while Inferno Aegis-stacked clear speed lets her out-farm and out-scale your early pressure. Whoever arrives with more HP and cooldowns wins — track their clear and choose the moment, not the coin-flip. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Respect Shyvana — Path Opposite | Do not trade windows with Shyvana here: she simply farms 4-5 faster than anyone else and banks fury for the Dragon’s Descent spike. Path opposite, keep your entrances warded, and answer the map, not the champion. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Respect Shyvana's R | The six-spike belongs to Shyvana, and Morgana's does not bridge the gap: dragon form turns the farm bot into a stat-checking duelist mid-fight. Her threat is front-loaded in fury — bait the transform, then fight the cooldown. Your own ultimate is a tool here, not a trump card — spend it to escape or equalize, not to start fights. |
| First Item Spike | Liandry's / Zhonya's | First items transform your pool and shackles into real kill pressure while the hourglass makes your engage survivable. Your camp economy accelerates past Shyvana's and your pick game becomes lane-altering. Force fights at pits where your W floors the contest space. Shyvana's first item plus dragon form is the sharpest spike she gets — the farm bot becomes a duellist in one moment. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Danger — Shyvana Outscales | You lose the long game outright: dragon form is a stat check most junglers simply lose, and no build path of yours answers that. Convert every early lead into an objective immediately. |
Start at the buff adjacent to raptors or krugs — your W wants multi-monster camps immediately. Track Shyvana's entry side to place your binding-escape route; your clear speed buys you the map's safest farm pattern. Shyvana has one of the fastest and healthiest clears in the game and will simply out-farm anyone who leaves her alone.

Shyvana pressures 3 of the 7 windows in this race — survive the early game and scale into your windows.
Not exactly — Shyvana pressures 3 of the 7 windows, so Morgana is playing catch-up and has to lean on the map.
