How to win the jungle race as Morgana against Taliyah · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Morgana's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Taliyah.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Respect Taliyah | The window at the first buff belongs to Taliyah: Threaded Volley on worked ground still chunks melee contests. Your own line is real — the W camp-melt is elite tempo; champion fights are not — clear and bank it — but it arrives second here. Don't chase her across worked ground — the mine slow turns retreats into kills, then skip the level-1 crossing. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Respect Taliyah | At level 2 this window belongs to Taliyah: boulder-field poke plus the W shove keeps duels at their range, and a W toss into a stunning boulder field bursts you at every choke point. Don't chase her across worked ground — the mine slow turns retreats into kills. Refuse the level-2 skirmish and bank tempo on the opposite side of the map. |
| Level 3 Route | Respect Taliyah | A W toss into a stunning boulder field bursts you at every choke point — Morgana has no answer to that at level 3. The W-into-Q burst combo plus E mine field wins fights at choke points on their half of the map too, so give up the level-3 river fight and answer the pressure cross-map. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Even — Farm & Track | Levels 4-5 are a stalemate vs Taliyah — match their clear speed, keep river vision, and bank gold for the level-6 window instead of coin-flipping. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Soul Shackles Favoured | Soul Shackles plus Black Shield makes 2v2s near your laners unwinnable for them. Weaver's Wall cuts your retreat path and ships ganks across the map — respect that one window, but the six-spike comparison favors you: take the post-6 duel whenever HP bars start even. |
| First Item Spike | Liandry's / Zhonya's | First items transform your pool and shackles into real kill pressure while the hourglass makes your engage survivable. Your camp economy accelerates past Taliyah's and your pick game becomes lane-altering. Force fights at pits where your W floors the contest space. Taliyah's first item makes the volley-into-shove combo a real burst instead of chip damage from range. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Respect Taliyah Late — End Early | Taliyah out-stats you from two items on — stop taking straight 1v1s, close through objectives and picks, and keep the game on a clock. |
Start at the buff adjacent to raptors or krugs — your W wants multi-monster camps immediately. Track Taliyah's entry side to place your binding-escape route; your clear speed buys you the map's safest farm pattern. Taliyah clears very fast with Threaded Volley on worked ground and rotates faster than almost anyone off her passive.

Not exactly — Taliyah pressures 4 of the 7 windows, so Morgana is playing catch-up and has to lean on the map.
