How to win lane as Vayne against Ziggs · 49.76% win rate (834 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Weather the poke — kite him apart with tumble + true damage.
Track: Ziggs's W — Satchel Charge (20–12s cooldown). His knockback + self-peel escape. Engage when it's down.
Read from Vayne's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Ziggs.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Ziggs | Ziggs owns level 1: his Q out-ranges everything you have and you can't trade back without a dash. |
| Level 2 | Ziggs | At 2 his Q poke and W knockback let him zone you off every CS attempt. |
| Level 3 | Ziggs | Through 3 his safe max-range poke keeps chunking you as you try to stack Silver Bolts. |
| Levels 4-5 | Ziggs | Across 4-5 you still have no gap-closer to answer his poke and W shove. |
| Level 6 | Ziggs | At 6 his R execute and zoning let him control the lane entirely at range. |
| First item | Vayne | On your first item BORK lets you close the gap and out-DPS the immobile squishy mage. |
| Two+ items | Vayne | By 2+ items Vayne deletes him on contact and Condemn cancels his W escape. |
Ziggs owns the early game: from level 1 he pokes you with Q from a range you can't answer, and you have no dash or shield to trade back. Every walk-up for a last-hit or a Silver Bolts stack costs you HP, and his W can shove you off the wave. Play safe, use minions to block Q where you can, and accept a CS deficit rather than eating poke — you have nothing to gain by trading into him early.
