At level 2 he picks up the chain-dash and that is the true matchup start: he closes, then chains Q into Kingslayer for a burst-and-heal cycle while your W is down. Pre-activate Soul Furnace the moment he primes the dash, so the shield eats the magic burst and his heal comes off a protected health bar. Note where the sustain actually lives — Kingslayer is the only heal in his kit, 12 seconds at rank 1, so Grievous Wounds bought early turns every long trade around. At level 3 you out-trade him cleanly: a charged Q into E armour-shred settles it before his cooldowns reset.
