How to win lane as Neeko against Aatrox · 48.7% win rate (1,195 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
He has to wade through roots and blooms to farm — chunk every step-up and never get touched.
Track: Aatrox's R — World Ender (120–80s cooldown). His drain-tank mode — never take a long fight into it.
Read from Neeko's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Aatrox.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Aatrox is one of the weakest level 1s with no chain-pull yet — but you have no combo either, so trade Q pokes and call it even. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Your second Q gives poke and his W is still a long-cooldown single threat — neither of you can commit, so it stays even. |
| Level 3 | Aatrox | His W-pull plus passive heal-on-hit turns your one root-and-poke into a losing extended trade he drains back. |
| Levels 4-5 | Aatrox | He out-sustains your Q waveclear and you can't all-in without ult, so his drain bruiser pattern owns the farm phase. |
| Level 6 | Aatrox | His R combat stats and heal spike beat your Pop Blossom channel, and his W can interrupt your wind-up before it lands. |
| First item | Aatrox | Eclipse Aatrox out-heals your single E-Q-R rotation; one missed root and his drain trade punishes you. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Late you become an AoE teamfight pick who roots his carries while he stays a single-target diver — the duel no longer decides it, so it evens out. |
Aatrox is actually weak levels 1-2, so this is your only real opening — I sit at max Blooming Burst (Q) range and chip him while he has no chain-pull and only telegraphed Q knockups to threaten. Do NOT walk up for autos; the moment you're in W range he pulls you and starts draining. At 3 I can thread Tangle-Barbs (E) into a Q re-bloom for a real chunk, but throw it as a poke, not a commit — if I whiff the root I have nothing to answer his trade-back.
