Volibear is exactly the dive bruiser my kit hates — he is tanky, he heals, and his empowered Q (Thundering Smash) closes the gap my hops normally keep open. At level 1 I only have Blooming Blows and concede the opener, just farming Q from max range. The trap is his W bite (Frenzied Maul): if he procs it on me he heals chunk and out-statchecks the trade, so I never stand still in his Q-dash range to throw a sweetspot. Chip the Dream Dust burn from the edge and accept I do not win an extended early brawl.
