Sion's whole early kill threat is the fully-charged Q knockup — if you stand in it at full charge it stuns you, his W detonation lands on a locked target, and pre-6 you have only Null Sphere's shield to answer with no blink to escape. Don't contest the wave: last-hit at max Q range and side-step the obvious charge by walking perpendicular to it. Use Nether Blade on a creep to refund your mana so you never get forced off lane, and just deny him the one full-charge Q he needs to commit. His E is an armor/MR-shred poke line, not a shield-break — it shreds your resists and shoves, it doesn't pop your Q shield.
