How to win lane as Jax against Akali · 51.23% win rate over 1,507 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Jax | Akali's level 1 is one of the worst in the game — no Shroud, low energy, melee with no escape — so step up and deny her last-hits while she can only Q-poke or auto. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Skill lane at 2: she chips with Q (Five Point Strike) from range, you threaten the Q-Empower burst — whoever lands their commit cleanly wins the short trade, and she can't yet escape it. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Your full combo is online, but Counter Strike only dodges her autos, not her Q — if she E-dashes in to weave autos you hold E and stun; if she plays back and pokes Q, it's a coinflip. |
| Levels 4-5 | Akali | She out-ranges your stun now, chipping with Q and using Twilight Shroud to break your Q target-lock and reset autos — the margin tips to her unless her energy is dry. |
| Level 6 | Akali | Her Perfect Execution at 6 is her spike: the first dash hops your Counter Strike stun and the second cast's missing-health execute finishes you — don't all-in into her ult. |
| First item | Akali | Her Lich Bane spike turns every Q and Shuriken-Flip auto-reset into real burst that procs straight out of Shroud, killing you before your R Armor/MR comes up — respect the all-in. |
| Two+ items | Jax | Past two items your Trinity Force plus R's bonus Armor/MR out-duels her squishy frame in the side lane — pin her with Leap Strike on her Shroud cooldown and your sustained DPS wins the honest 1v1. |
Akali's level 1 is genuinely feeble — no Shroud yet, a tiny energy pool, and she's a melee assassin with no escape, so step up and last-hit freely while she can only Q-poke or auto. Your job is to deny her free Five Point Strike chip and any passive procs. Once you both hit 3 it's a skill lane: remember Counter Strike (E) dodges her AUTOS, not her Q, so when she E-dashes onto you to weave autos, hold your E, let those autos feed the stun, then recast and Q-Empower her face. Don't throw Q first or she just Shrouds the follow-up — and don't expect E to blank her ability damage, only the autos.
