Swain is one of the easiest level-1s to disrespect: his Q (Death's Hand) reaches 750 and his E (Nevermove) is his only real threat, so the early game is dodging one skillshot twice. Nevermove roots on the RETURN pass, not the way out — sidestep after it has flown past you. Dodge it and he is defenceless for 12s: walk up, throw Q for the boomerang chip, and let your passive's second shot stack the magic proc and shield onto you. Never stand in a line at minion range, or the root lands and Vision of Empire (W) drops on top of it.
