This is Akshan's own plan; across 1,666 pooled games the lane is leaning Sion.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Akshan | Avengerang plus the passive second shot lets you chip a Sion who can only farm, and canceling the shot for move speed keeps you spaced from his Q. |
| Level 2 | Akshan | Decimating Smash (Q) winds up slowly on a 10s cooldown — sidestep it and you own the next ten seconds, since it is his only lock into melee. |
| Level 3 | Akshan | Heroic Swing at 3 lets you fire from around terrain outside his Q range and reset on takedowns — your strongest pure-lane window opens. |
| Levels 4-5 | Akshan | Soul Furnace (W) shields on a 15s cooldown and heals nothing — chip it off, wait the reactivate, and your poke beats anything he returns. |
| Level 6 | Akshan | Comeuppance executes off the missing health you've stacked with Avengerang, and his charged knockup is the only threat you must bait out. |
| First item | Akshan | Youmuu's lethality plus the Heroic Swing reset on a takedown snowballs the lane and frees you to W-camo and roam. |
| Two+ items | Sion | Sion out-scales hard — Roar of the Slayer (E) shreds your armour, Soul Furnace hits for max health, and a charged Q knockup starts fights for him. |
Sion is here to farm and you punish it. Lead with Avengerang to chip the wave and tag him, weave your passive second shot when he steps up to last-hit, then cancel the shot for move speed to drift back out of range. The one thing to respect is a fully-charged Decimating Smash — if he winds up the knockup, sidestep it (Heroic Swing isn't up until 3), because that stun is his only way to lock you into melee. Keep poking the boomerang every time he reaches for a minion and his shield-and-farm plan slowly bleeds.
