How to win the jungle race as Locke against Elise · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Locke's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Elise.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Locke Favoured | Q nail volleys clear camps at range while banking marks for the first scuttle fight. Elise can make it awkward — Cocoon into spider-form burst plus Rappel untargetability wins the level-3 window outright — but not before either of you has a second camp down. Trade, then walk away with a camp and a chunk of their health bar. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Respect Elise | The window on the second camp belongs to Elise: Cocoon plus spiderling damage starts winning straight fights. Your own line is real — the blink-auto mark consume chunks hard, but spending E in a duel spends the escape too — but it arrives second here. Sidestep the Cocoon and her whole pattern fails — track her, don't coin-flip the stun, then refuse the level-2 skirmish. |
| Level 3 Route | Danger — Avoid Elise | Hard no-contest for Locke at level 3: the famous level-3 spike: Cocoon, Rappel, full spider burst — the strongest duel window in the game, and Cocoon into spider-form burst plus Rappel untargetability wins the level-3 window outright. Sidestep the Cocoon and her whole pattern fails — track her, don't coin-flip the stun. Path opposite, ward your entrances, and let the clock carry you to your own spike. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Respect Elise — Path Opposite | You lose the 4-5 duel. This is her strongest stretch — 4-5 is a Cocoon-hunting window and every gank is worth more than a camp — so let them have that half of the map and cash the other half faster. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Purgatory Favoured | The Purgatory totem turns any low-HP skirmish into a chain of executes and blink resets. You win the breakpoint against Elise, not the whole game — cash the advantage on the first objective after both sides hit six. |
| First Item Spike | Lich Bane / Shadowflame Spike | Lich Bane turns every blink-consume into a Spellblade chunk and Shadowflame sharpens the low-HP crunch. This is your strongest duel window of the game — cash it on a pick, not a coin-flip. Elise's first item keeps the spider-form burst relevant a while longer, but it is the last window where it one-shots. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Locke Favoured — Wins Late | The late game is yours. Remember what Elise still is at full build — she falls off — the Cocoon pick still lands but the follow-up no longer kills — and take the fights that do not let it matter. |
Start Red with a leash and Q the camp from max nail range — W’s grey-health refund keeps the clear honest, but full clears cost real HP, so path toward a healthy scuttle, not a fight. Elise clears well off spiderlings and human-form poke, and she is one of the healthiest junglers on the map at three.
