Do NOT charge your Q in the open at level 1; the telegraph is too long and he dashes straight through it. Start W, absorb one trade, and accept the lane is his until you have levels. Watch his auto-attack wind-up rather than the ability icon, because Ruthless Predator resets his attack and that wind-up is the real start of the combo. At level 3 you can fight back: charge from brush, and re-engage the moment his Fury is spent.
