How to win lane as Rumble against Karma · 52.3% win rate over 1,914 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Karma | Karma's Q is ranged instant poke at a range your Level 1 Flamespitter cannot answer — she chunks you on every last-hit and you have no E to close yet. |
| Level 2 | Karma | Her Level 2 W-tether root means any step-up attempt risks a root-into-full-combo; she controls the trade completely. |
| Level 3 | Karma | Full kit Karma with E shield-speed kites your Flamespitter cone every single time — the only trade you win is when E is visibly down. |
| Levels 4-5 | Karma | Mantra-Q hits through Scrap Shield in two casts and her E recharges faster than your windows — she owns the sustained trade cycle here. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | Equalizer changes the map threat and neither of you has a new 1v1 tool at 6 — force river fights where the zone matters more than the duel. |
| First item | Karma | First-item AP Karma's RQ burst can delete you through Scrap Shield; you need to bait her Mantra charge before every commit or the trade is free for her. |
| Two+ items | Karma | Two-item Karma has enough AP to one-rotate you if Scrap Shield is down — play for Equalizer teamfight impact rather than trying to win a 1v1 you lost all lane. |
Karma is one of the worst Level 1 matchups in this role for Rumble — her Q is long-range, low-cooldown poke that chunks you every time you step up to last-hit, and you have no reliable way to close the gap before you have E online. Eat as little as possible, use Scrap Shield to absorb the biggest RQ hits, and do not commit to a trade you haven't pre-planned. At Level 2 you get Electro-Harpoon, which is your only real threat — land the double-harpoon to slow her, then rush Flamespitter range, but she will E-speed out and the trade usually goes her way unless she is badly out of position. By Level 3 your full kit is available but she is also at full kit with E shield always ready: only trade when her E is visibly on cooldown, and keep the wave on your side of the river so she has to walk up to be relevant.
