How to win lane as Mel against Teemo · 46.75% win rate (492 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Poke mirror you usually win — your reflect makes his best spell a liability.
Track: Teemo's Q — Blinding Dart (7s cooldown). Blinds your autos — trade with spells while it is up.
Read from Mel's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Teemo.
This is Mel's own plan; across 492 pooled games the lane is leaning Teemo.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | One ability and a ranged auto each — even footing, but his Blinding Dart already threatens to cancel any auto I commit, so I only trade with Q. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | My Q + Solar Snare gives me a guaranteed root punish if he steps up, but he can blind the Q-empowered auto follow-up, keeping it even. |
| Level 3 | Teemo | His Q is up every 7s and Toxic Shot chips me every trade — but any Q tick strips Move Quick's passive speed, so keep him tagged. |
| Levels 4-5 | Teemo | As his blind and poison scale he owns the sustained poke war; my short trades can't out-damage his free chip from outside my Q. |
| Level 6 | Mel | Golden Eclipse detonates stacked Overwhelm from any range and he can't blind an instant — if I poked him low, this is my one stage to kill him. |
| First item | Teemo | His Liandry's/Nashor's poke and shroom zoning out-range and out-sustain my Q, and his blind still blanks my autos — his peak. |
| Two+ items | Teemo | He out-ranges and out-poisons me while shrooms wall my retreats; I have no escape if he reaches me, so the long game is his. |
Two ranged champs, but his range and his blind beat mine. Teemo's Blinding Dart shuts off my empowered autos, so every stack I try to build through an auto just dies — I have to do my Overwhelm work with Q (Radiant Volley) from max range, never by stepping up to auto him. My one real early play is Level 2 Solar Snare: if he walks up to last-hit, throw the orb, root him, and dump a Q barrage before it breaks. Outside that, eat the poison, farm with the tip of Q, and do not chase — he kites my whole kit with move speed.
