How to win lane as Kled against Gangplank · 51.62% win rate over 587 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Kled | Level 1 Gangplank has one un-chained keg and no Sheen proc, so your Bear Trap percent-HP poke plus a Skaarl auto wins the first trade outright before his barrel chain or W cleanse come online. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Your E-W-E re-E all-in is real now, but his level-2 single keg can still free-trade you on an overstep — it's a coin-flip on who lands their setup, so fight in the barrel gaps. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | You can stick Q and threaten the full re-E, but Remove Scurvy comes up to cleanse the slow your dash-back relies on, keeping the trade genuinely even. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Your remount sustain out-trades his single-keg pokes if you catch him mid-chain, but a fully-chained detonation flips it — neither side owns the wave, so respect the barrels and keep Q for the slow. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | Your R engages off a gank or knocks him off a primed barrel, but his level 6 is a global Cannon Barrage too, so both of you gain a tool and the lane stays a skill check on landing your combo first. |
| First item | Gangplank | His Sheen/Trinity plus Infinity Edge crit barrels detonate from screens away and Remove Scurvy cleanses your Q slow, so he out-pokes you while your re-E combo is on cooldown — this window is his. |
| Two+ items | Kled | In a straight 2+ item all-in your Bear Trap percent-max-HP and remount Violent Tendencies shots still shred him, and a re-E onto a caught-out GP deletes him before his crit autos answer — close it with R, don't sit and let him poke. |
Level 1 is mine for once — Gangplank only has a single un-chained keg and no Sheen proc, so I stick Bear Trap (Q) for the slow and percent-max-HP chunk, throw a Skaarl auto, and win the first trade before his barrel chain or Remove Scurvy matter. From level 2 it tightens: my E-W-E re-E (dash through, Violent Tendencies shots, dash back through the mark) is a real all-in, but if I overstep into a fully-chained barrel detonation he free-trades my mount HP. Fight in the gaps between his kegs, keep Q for the slow that lets the re-E land, and don't let him poke Skaarl low from range while I wait.
