Level 1 he just eats your Q with his W poison trail ticking on you — you concede it, so preserve Skaarl's health and don't walk through his goo to last-hit. Your real window is 2-3: land Q (Bear Trap) so it STICKS and yank yourself in, then E through, W-pull the shotgun shots, and re-E. If you don't open with a stuck Q he simply walks out of your E and flings you, because nothing else in your kit pins him.
