Levels 1-3 are the worst of the game for you and you must respect it: Riven's three Broken Wings dashes with the third-cast AoE knockup, comboed into her Ki Burst stun and E dash-shield, is a full burst that can kill you while you're still a short-range auto-attacker with one rank of W heal. Do not contest her in melee or step up to throw a Radiant Blast she can just dash through; last-hit from max distance, take only the CS you can safely reach, and concede the wave if she winds up her Q animations at you. Use your Q's slow to peel a committed all-in, not to start one — you cannot win this trade and there is no escape once Ki Burst lands.
