Jax owns these levels and you have to respect it — he Leap Strikes (Q) onto you, and his Counter Strike (E) both dodges your Nether Blade autos and stuns you, so any auto trade you start hands him a free Empowered-auto all-in. Your only tool is Null Sphere, a short-range mana-hungry poke, and you have no escape, so do not step into his Leap Strike range to throw it. Last-hit at the tip of Q range, soak the harass, and accept you are conceding the lane — your job is to not die, not to trade. Void Stone does almost nothing here, since Jax's combo is mostly physical, not magic.
