How to win lane as Kassadin against Heimerdinger · 45.03% win rate (171 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
If his damage is magic, your Q eats it — if it's physical, this is a real lane. Either way: level 6 changes everything.
Track: Heimerdinger's E — CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade (11s cooldown). The stun makes his turret nest lethal — dodge it before diving.
Read from Kassadin's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Heimerdinger.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | You're both weak at level 1 — he has only one turret and you have only Null Sphere, so neither can commit and it's a coinflip wash. |
| Level 2 | Heimerdinger | His second H-28G turret plus a Micro-Rocket volley out-trades your single mana-hungry Q before you have Nether Blade for sustain. |
| Level 3 | Heimerdinger | Three turret beams crossfire the wave and zone you off CS while your short-range Q can't poke back through them. |
| Levels 4-5 | Heimerdinger | Without Nether Blade mana back you can't contest his turret nest, and the CH-2 grenade catches you with no blink to escape yet. |
| Level 6 | Heimerdinger | Riftwalk lets you sidestep the grenade at 6, but a 500-unit hop is a flee button - you still can't out-DPS three turrets to kill him. |
| First item | Heimerdinger | His turret zone is fully scaled while your Rod of Ages stall only buys farm, so he keeps the lane lead into the first item. |
| Two+ items | Kassadin | With Riftwalk at 2s and Nashor's/Lich Bane online you chain blinks through the turrets and one-combo an immobile Heimer who can't reposition. |
Heimer's turrets are the whole problem - the H-28 G nest zones the wave so hard that your single Null Sphere can't reach a last-hit without standing in turret beams plus a Micro-Rocket volley from 1325 range. Don't try to trade: you have no Nether Blade mana back yet and your Q is mana-hungry and short-ranged. His CH-2 grenade is an 11-second cooldown that stuns only what it hits dead-centre and slows everything around the rim, so sidestep the middle rather than saving a shield for it - the shield eats damage and the stun lands regardless. Concede the wave, last-hit what you can under tower, and accept this stage is lost.
