Level 1 he just walks up and pokes with his charged Q and his E (an armor/MR-shred skillshot), and you only have Bladesurge with no stun to answer — so concede the first window, farm with Q resets off the casters, and never stand still long enough to eat a fully-charged Q knockup. The big rule all early is dodge the charge: his Q telegraphs hard, so sidestep it and his whole trade falls apart, because the uncharged version is a weak short-range hit with a small slow. At 3, the moment his charged Q whiffs or is on cooldown, E-stun him into a Q-reset and you win that exchange clean before he can detonate his W shield.
