How to win lane as Irelia against Singed · 46.17% win rate over 431 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Singed | He proxies behind your wave and clears it with Poison Trail, so you have no minion to Bladesurge-reset off and no Singed to E-stun — you just bleed CS and tempo while he farms safely. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Both of you are soft here, but Defiant Dance's damage reduction lets you survive a Fling-and-poison trade if he steps up, and your E-stun answers his single-target Fling — neither of you owns it. |
| Level 3 | Irelia | If he does commit, E's two-blade stun is the rare hard CC his move speed can't escape and Bladesurge resets off the marked target, so the rare lane fight is a coin flip you can win — the lone window that's yours. |
| Levels 4-5 | Singed | He's tankier and almost always proxying now; you can't catch him in the poison and his Fling resets the gap every time, so the map-state belongs to him. |
| Level 6 | Irelia | Vanguard's Edge walls off the run-and-Fling escape — drop it behind him and your E-stun plus Bladesurge resets finally stick to the kiter you otherwise couldn't pin down, but he has to be there to catch. |
| First item | Singed | Rylai's/Liandry's makes his Fling-and-poison run-down unkiteable and his HP/mana sustain out-lasts your shred, so he walks through your damage reduction and wins the chase outright. |
| Two+ items | Singed | Full drain-tank Singed proxy-splits and can't be solo-killed — your team has to group and end on your earlier lead before his unkiteable scaling takes over the map. |
Singed's whole early game is to deny you a target — he proxies behind your wave and clears it with Poison Trail (Q), so your Bladesurge has no friendly minion to dash and reset off and your E-stun has no Singed body to land on. Don't chase him into the poison; you'll eat the cloud, get Flung (W) back toward his tower, and lose the trade to a champion you never actually touched. At level 3 with E up, the one time he steps to your wave his Fling is single-target while your E is a two-blade stun his move speed can't escape — Bladesurge the E-marked target for the reset, but punish only that.
