Read from Gangplank's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Riven.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Riven | Riven's level-1 Broken Wings dash plus a free auto on your low-HP keg pops it early and denies the detonation, and you have no waveclear or trade to answer her. |
| Level 2 | Riven | Her Broken Wings third cast knocks up and she can chain E-dash into W's stun to walk you down before your barrels are online to zone. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | By level 3 you've placed kegs at max range and have Parrrley to last-hit - she can still walk you down, but you can deny the free dive, so it's a coinflip. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | As Parrrley and Keg rank up you poke from outside her Q-dash range - even trades while you respect her engage cooldowns. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | At 6 Cannon Barrage zones her off the wave and punishes a dive but isn't a 1v1 button, so the level stays a skill matchup decided by cooldowns. |
| First item | Gangplank | Sheen into the keg build means a Sheen-empowered Parrrley plus a chained detonation out-bursts her combo, and W cleanses her knockup on the all-in. |
| Two+ items | Gangplank | Chained keg explosions and global Cannon Barrage make you the scaling carry while Riven falls off, and W shuts down the CC her dive needs to stick. |
Levels 1-3 are hers and you know it - Riven's Broken Wings dashes close the gap, the third cast knocks you up, and she can E-dash in for a W-stun combo before your barrels have the HP to zone. Place your Powder Keg out at max range and as far from her as you can so she can't just auto it to pop it early and deny the detonation, and last-hit with Parrrley instead of stepping into her dash range. Don't try to trade autos here; your keg charges are slow to come back and you have no waveclear, so eat a little chip and farm. The one thing that bails you out is W - keep Remove Scurvy up for when she commits the full knockup-into-W combo.
