Levels 1-3 are yours and you have to cash them in — this is the only stretch where Kennen can't kite you and can't stun you yet. Walk up behind minions, eat one Q (Thundering Shuriken) if you must, and look for the level 2-3 spike where Q-Vital plus E (Bladework) lets you all-in: Lunge in, strike the Vital for % max-HP true damage and the heal/MS burst, and the Bladework crit chunks him before his energy poke means anything. Do NOT trade auto-for-auto at range — his Q poke out-chips you if you just stand there. Force the gap-close on his Q cooldown.
