How to win lane as Cassiopeia against Ziggs · 38.1% win rate (42 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
He pokes in bursts, you poke forever — survive the early chip and the treadmill out-grinds him.
Track: Ziggs's W — Satchel Charge (20–12s cooldown). His knockback escape — he is catchable only while it is down.
Read from Cassiopeia's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Ziggs.
This is Cassiopeia's own plan; across 42 pooled games the lane is Ziggs-favoured.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Ziggs | Bouncing Bomb matches your Q at 850, but Twin Fang reaches only 700 — you can poison him and still never cash the fangs, and at 1 you cannot answer that. |
| Level 2 | Ziggs | He keeps bombing you from outside your Miasma-ground range, and you can never reach him to prime a poison and Twin Fang anything. |
| Level 3 | Cassiopeia | Even with Q and W up, his Minefield (E) and Bouncing Bomb let him control the wave and zone your last-hits while you can't punish from afar. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Once Q and W are ranked, a Miasma ground on a mispositioned Ziggs into chained Twin Fangs is a real punish — but it only exists if he misplays, so the window is a coin-flip on his positioning. |
| Level 6 | Cassiopeia | Petrifying Gaze is your one clean kill: walk through his Q, Miasma to ground his Satchel jump, and stun-cone the all-in before he repositions. |
| First item | Cassiopeia | His first-item siege range (Liandry's/Luden's) lets him zone you off CS and turret from past 1000 — your DPS is useless against a target you can't touch. |
| Two+ items | Cassiopeia | Full-artillery Ziggs pokes and sieges from range you can never close with no boots; you stay squishy and short, so play for teamfights, not the 1v1. |
Levels 1-3 are miserable and you have to accept it. Bouncing Bomb (Q) is 850 range, exactly the same as your Noxious Blast — the gap that actually kills you is Twin Fang at 700, so you can land poison and still have nothing to cash it with, while Minefield (900) and Satchel (1000) reach past both. Do not try to trade Qs, you lose every exchange. Instead lean on your Serpentine Grace move speed and Noxious Blast's speed boost to weave behind minions and break his Q bounce-line, last-hit at max range, and stay out of any thrown Satchel zone. Your only goal these levels is to not fall behind in HP and survive to your level-6 all-in.
