How to win lane as Cassiopeia against Cho'Gath · 53.52% win rate over 71 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | At Level 1 you have one ability and no Twin Fang to chain, while his point-and-click Rupture knockup into Feral Scream silence punishes any step-up. Last-hit and don't trade. |
| Level 2 | Cassiopeia | With Q and E ranked you can prime-and-Twin-Fang for a real trade, and his only dash-less answer is to walk forward, so you start winning short exchanges. |
| Level 3 | Cassiopeia | Your full Q-to-E combo plus Serpentine Grace move speed comes online. Prime with Noxious Blast, chain refunded Twin Fangs, and kite his immobile melee. |
| Levels 4-5 | Cassiopeia | Ranks in Q and E let you chain Twin Fangs against a target who can't dodge poison or escape your ramp, so you win every extended trade. |
| Level 6 | Cassiopeia | Petrifying Gaze lets you stun him before he can land a Rupture engage and turns a won poke trade into a kill before his Feast stacks scale. |
| First item | Cassiopeia | Lost Chapter into early Liandry's plus your passive AP conversion make you a dominant lane DPS. Twin Fang shreds him faster than his regen refills. |
| Two+ items | Cho'Gath | His Feast HP stacks and percent-HP true-damage R execute ignore your no-resist glass build, so at 2+ items he out-tanks your poison and the game is his if it goes long. |
At Level 1 the lane is close to even. You have one ability and no Twin Fang yet to chain, and his point-and-click pressure means if you step into Rupture (Q) range he can knock you up into a Feral Scream (W) silence, so just farm with the edge of your Noxious Blast. Level 2 you already get a real prime-and-Twin-Fang trade, and the lane fully turns at 3 when your Q-into-E combo and Serpentine Grace move speed come online. From there poke with Q from outside his Rupture range. Rupture is a point-and-click ground-target with a clear cast delay, so sidestep the telegraph and only commit E when he is already poisoned so your Twin Fang refunds and chains. Never stand still in a spot where he gets a free Q knockup.
