How to win lane as Akshan against Heimerdinger · 50% win rate over 18 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | At Level 1 you only have Q and a single auto, and his nest isn't up yet — neither of you can commit, so just secure CS and don't eat a free E grenade. |
| Level 2 | Akshan | Your Q out-ranges him and your auto plus passive follow-up shot beats his thin one-or-two-turret setup — step up and trade here before the nest stacks. |
| Level 3 | Akshan | Adding E gives you a poke-and-escape swing — sidestep his E grenade, swing in for a Q and auto, and chunk him before the full nest re-zones the wave. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | His nest is now stacked and walls you off the minions, but you can still bait the E grenade and swing out clean — it's an even respect game where neither side gets a free trade. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | Once items come online his three turrets out-DPS your lethality and his W waveclear denies your CS — the wave control is his even when you're ahead. |
| First item | Akshan | Your R scales up to 200% with his missing HP, so it converts your early poke into a kill threat at 6 and tilts the kill pressure your way through mid. |
| Two+ items | Heimerdinger | His turret walls and W rocket waveclear lock you off the wave while your lethality falls off, and he out-sieges and out-teamfights you — the scaling is firmly his. |
Heimer's whole early game is the turret nest, but it takes a few seconds and multiple casts to stack — before it's online your Q (Avengerang) out-ranges him and your auto-attack plus passive follow-up shot out-trades him. Punish him at Levels 2-3 when only one or two turrets are down: Q-poke, walk up for an auto-and-passive trade, then back off before the turrets and a W rocket stack damage on you. The thing to dodge is his E grenade — eat it and you're stunned, then the turrets and rockets melt you. Don't facecheck brush for a W roam while his E is up.
