How to win lane as Akali against Galio · 51.47% win rate over 102 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Galio | You both have weak level 1s, but his Q (Winds of War) center column out-pokes your single Q and you have no Shroud yet to heal the chip back — concede CS and play the edge. |
| Level 2 | Galio | His Q keeps chunking you on every last-hit step-up while you still lack Shroud sustain, and a passive-empowered auto stacks on top of the poke. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Shroud comes online to blank his Q center and reset, but his E (Justice Punch) taunt answers your dash-in, so the lane sits genuinely even here. |
| Levels 4-5 | Akali | Your Level 6 is the spike his MR hasn't met yet — wait out the E taunt, E-flip in, and Perfect Execution's missing-health execute finishes the kill. |
| Level 6 | Akali | Your Rocketbelt/Lich Bane burst still drops him at first item — punish now, because the instant he buys a magic-resist component your two-cast R stops finishing. |
| First item | Even / skill | His W (Durand's Shield) channel plus a single MR item soaks your full rotation, and the E taunt pulls you off your combo before the second R cast lands. |
| Two+ items | Galio | Stacked magic resist makes your single-target burst irrelevant to him, and his global R (Hero's Entrance) lets him scale and swing fights across the map while you stall. |
Galio's Q (Winds of War) throws two tornadoes that drift together into a center column — that center is where the magic damage stacks, so last-hit from the edge and never stand in the middle to CS. At Levels 1-3 you have no Shroud and no sustain, so every step-up to farm eats Q chip plus a passive-empowered auto on top. Don't trade into that — concede a little CS, take only edge damage, and wait for your kit to come online. His real threat is E (Justice Punch), not W: that dash is a hard taunt, and if you E onto him while it is up he taunts you off and ignores your invisibility entirely.
