How to win lane as Kassadin against Anivia · 49.04% win rate (1,568 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Her poke is magic and your shield eats magic — the lane she was promised never quite arrives, and yours does at 16.
Track: Anivia's Q — Flash Frost (Stun, 11–7s cooldown). The slow-moving stun starts every Anivia kill — sidestep it and her E never doubles.
Read from Kassadin's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Anivia.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Anivia | Her poke and wall control dominate the lane before you have any tools to answer |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Continued poke keeps her ahead as she out-ranges your short kit |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Still her lane — Crystallize denies your approach entirely |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Levels 4-5: Flash Frost at 1075 reaches you anywhere, and Crystallize cuts off every farm walk. |
| Level 6 | Anivia | Still her stage as the Egg passive makes her nearly unkillable without burst |
| First item | Anivia | First item chunks her, but Rebirth means the egg has to die too — one blink-string isn't the full kill yet |
| Two+ items | Kassadin | Full-build Riftwalk burst finally lets you kill through her Egg before she resets |
Levels 1-2 are hers by a wide margin — Anivia's poke range and Crystallize wall control space so thoroughly that you can barely approach to farm, let alone trade, so you play maximally passive. Track Flash Frost (Stun): 11s at rank 1, 1075 range — sidestep it and her Frostbite never doubles. Anivia's Frostbite and Flash Frost poke chip you down from long range while Crystallize walls off your escape routes, and you can't punish her Egg passive without heavy burst.
