How to win lane as Azir against Diana · 46.14% win rate (1,270 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
She has to enter soldier range to kill you — that trip costs HP, and your E + R make the return trip expensive too.
Track: Diana's Q — Crescent Strike (8–6s cooldown). Moonlight marks reset her dash — sidestep the arc and her dive has no follow-up.
Read from Azir's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Diana.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Diana | Crescent Strike reaches 900 to your 525 soldier and farms the wave as it pokes — level 1 she chips you for free |
| Level 2 | Diana | Her Pale Cascade shield-and-burst combo keeps punishing any close-range poke exchange |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Both sides trade evenly here as her cooldowns cycle and your soldier positioning offsets her jump |
| Levels 4-5 | Diana | A landed Crescent Strike refunds Lunar Rush, so one arc buys her two dashes onto you |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | Emperor's Divide walls Lunar Rush outright, so her only gap-closer stops working on your terms |
| First item | Diana | She still finds pick windows off jungle assists or isolated roams at this phase |
| Two+ items | Azir | Full Emperor's Divide plus scaled soldiers finally let you wall her dash and win the extended fight |
Crescent Strike marks you with Moonlight and that makes Lunar Rush free, so the arc landing is the dive starting. Pale Cascade's spheres detonate in melee range, so she punishes any wave you shove too far forward. Track Crescent Strike is 8s at rank 1, 6s at rank 5, and it applies Moonlight — while you are marked, Lunar Rush has NO cooldown. Sidestep the arc and her dash is back on 22s at rank 1.
