How to win the jungle race as Trundle against Diana · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Read from Trundle's seat: the race windows this plan plays for against Diana.
| Stage | Read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Clear | Trundle Dominant | Chomp (Q) steals AD on hit, so your level-1 trade is rigged in your favor. There is no version of this Diana wins right now — Crescent Strike poke is real, but hold the all-in until their combo completes, and that folds at the first buff. Show on their side of the river and take a camp and a chunk of their health bar. |
| Level 2 Skirmish | Trundle Dominant | Frozen Domain (W) attack speed makes your buff-pit duel one of the best in the game. Later in the game this bites, because a landed Crescent Strike into the dash-shield combo trades very hard at three. But with one camp still up on both sides none of it is online, so take the level-2 skirmish and tax every camp Diana concedes. |
| Level 3 Route | Trundle Dominant | Pillar (E) cuts the escape; with Q AD-steal and W haste the duel is yours, while the Q-dash-W full combo comes online. Only one of those wins at the opening scuttle, so press it: take the level-3 river fight, then leave with the first scuttle and the gank window behind it. |
| Levels 4-5 Macro | Trundle Dominant — Keep Fighting | Nothing about 4-5 helps Diana here: she is farming toward six through 4-5 — Pale Cascade keeps the clear safe and the kill threat is not real yet, while you can take any duel you can reach. Invade on the clear-timer, not on a whim. |
| Level 6 Breakpoint | Subjugate Favoured | Subjugate drains max health and resists, rigging any extended duel in your favor. Moonfall's vacuum pull plus the dash-reset combo one-rotations squishier junglers, so the margin is real but narrow: fight when your ultimate is up and Moonfall is the one on cooldown. |
| First Item Spike | Titanic Hydra Spike | Titanic Hydra fits Trundle's stat-check kit better than a sustain-item route: the passive's bonus Health and its active cleave speed up his camp clears and give him the Health buffer to survive Diana's Pale Cascade/Lunar Rush burst before Subjugate's stat steal turns the duel. This spike is about clearing faster and surviving her all-in, not raw lifesteal. Diana's first item turns the Q-dash-Moonfall rotation from a chunk into a kill on anything without an escape. |
| 2+ Items Scaling | Danger — Diana Outscales | The clock is your enemy. She one-rotations a squishy target and gets a second one free off the Moonfall pull, so close the game on the first two objectives you actually win. |
Start your clear at the Red Buff camp utilizing your Chomp AD steal to maximize early clear speed. Diana clears fast with Moonsilver Blade resets and Pale Cascade shields, and she leaves camps at close to full health.
