Favour timeline — who owns each window

StageFavouredWhy
Level 1OlafOlaf walks you down at level 1 — his axe (Q) slow and W lifesteal win the all-in before your W steroid exists.
Level 2OlafHe still out-trades you: his Q slow sticks him to you and W heals back your Harrier-auto poke.
Level 3OlafYour full combo is online but his sustain plus the axe slow mean he wins any extended trade you start.
Levels 4-5OlafLevels 4-5 he out-sustains your poke with W and converts the lane lead his early all-ins built.
Level 6OlafHis R goes CC-immune and true-damage — your blind and E slow can't stop the run-down at 6.
First itemOlafHis Bramble/lifesteal first item still eats your lethality poke; commit only when his Q is whiffed.
Two+ itemsQuinnAt 2+ items you finally kite a no-R Olaf — blind his autos with Q, E him off, and chip with range.

Early game (levels 1–5)

Olaf just runs at you, and that is the whole problem early. His axe (Q) slows you and refunds its own cooldown when he picks it up, so dodging it is everything — sidestep the throw and he loses both the slow and his mana sustain. My Q blind makes his autos miss, which buys a little, but his W lifesteal heals the trade right back and I don't have my W steroid until level 2. Last-hit at range, chip with Q, and never let him pin me against the wall before level 3.
