How to win lane as Nautilus against Trundle · 72.73% win rate over 11 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | No all-in without W or E yet, so it's even — but your passive root makes the first auto-trade tilt your way if he steps up to last-hit. |
| Level 2 | Nautilus | Your W shield and splash burn come online and out-trade his bite; bait his E Pillar before you commit the Q hook. |
| Level 3 | Nautilus | Q pull plus passive root plus E slow is a full lock he can't Pillar out of, and your W burn wins the short trade clean. |
| Levels 4-5 | Nautilus | Your W shield and E scaling let you zone him off the wave while his sustain doesn't matter yet without items. |
| Level 6 | Nautilus | Depth Charge is undodgeable and he has no dash to break the knock-up — R into your CC chain is a guaranteed kill window. |
| First item | Nautilus | Your first tanky engage item keeps him pinned, so all-in now before his Subjugate stacks and lifesteal come online. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | His R steals your resists and Q starves your AD; with 2+ items he out-sustains your flat tank damage, so the late game is his. |
Level 1 is roughly even — you have no all-in without W or E, but your passive root makes any auto-trade favor you. From Level 2-3 you take over: land Q to pull, the passive roots him on your first auto, then E slows and W's splash burn out-damages anything he does back. Watch his E Pillar — he'll try to drop it between you to block your Q hook or wall off the trade, so bait it or hook from an angle. Don't waste Q chasing; it's your only gap-close.
