Both level 1s are middling — you have only Obliterate, he has only Leap Strike — so farm with the tip of your Q and don't hand him a Leap Strike reset off a low minion. Your real window is levels 2-3: once you have Q (Obliterate) and W (Indestructible) you out-trade him, because his only commitment is Leap Strike and a Counter Strike that can't fully charge yet. The rule that decides every trade: Counter Strike (E) dodges your autos and turret shots but NOT your Obliterate, so lead with Q into a raised Counter Strike, then auto only after it expires. If you walk in autoing while it's up, you eat the stun and he gets a free Leap Strike on top.
