Favour timeline — who owns each window

StageFavouredWhy
Level 1Even / skillBoth of us are weak with one ability — he can't Q-dash commit yet and I lack the projectile count, so it's even and I just set up CS.
Level 2MelMy Q + Solar Snare root lands a guaranteed punish on him stepping up, and he has no E-rewind to undo it at level 2.
Level 3MelWith Q, E and W online I out-poke a Yone who can't yet sustain trades or dash in safely, and my root denies his step-up.
Levels 4-5Even / skillHis Q ranks and mark-stacking start to bite, but my Overwhelm builds too — it's a genuine coinflip on who lands their cooldown.
Level 6Even / skillHis R-knockup arrives and my single Solar Snare can't cover both his Q-dash entrance and his E-rewind exit, so the window is even at best.
First itemEven / skillHe buys his first crit item and Berserker's; his dash range now closes my Solar Snare gap on cooldown, neutralizing my kite.
Two+ itemsYoneHe E-rewinds through my poke, ignores my kiting with raw mobility, and one R-combo deletes me before my passive scaling matters.

Early game (levels 1–5)

I have a real window early — at Level 2 with Q and Solar Snare I can root him as he steps up for a minion and stack a free Q-poke on top, and he has no E-rewind escape yet to undo it. The trick is that his W spirit-cleave and third-auto Q-dash hit harder the longer he stacks marks, so I poke and back off, never standing in cleave range. Hold my W barrier for his dash-in auto or the spirit blade projectile, not for a stray poke. My root is my only CC, so if I whiff it I have nothing to peel his commit.
