Bait his Q (Winds of War) tornado and pop W (Rebuttal) to eat it and fire it back as your own magic damage; that wall is your best tool here. Do NOT walk up to throw a wide poke — his W (Shield of Durand) charges a taunt that drags you into melee, and once he taunts you he winds up free Q-into-passive damage on a target who can't kite.
