How to win lane as Karma against Yorick · 46.63% win rate (2,908 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
A toll booth he can't afford — RQ every step-up and tether the one chase he tries.
Track: Yorick's W — Dark Procession (20–12s cooldown). The cage traps you with the ghoul swarm — sidestep or break it instantly.
Read from Karma's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Yorick.
This is Karma's own plan; across 2,908 pooled games the lane is leaning Yorick.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Karma | Mantra is up from level 1, so RQ Soulflare opens with a delayed damage zone and slow that out-pokes Yorick before his ghouls or Maiden exist. |
| Level 2 | Karma | You out-range him with Q (Inner Flame) while his ghoul economy is thin and Maiden is still two levels away — chunk him now, this is your last clean window. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Once his E (Mourning Mist) is up the lane evens out — the mark slows you and his ghouls swarm it, but you can still dodge the mark and trade if Mantra is rebuilt. |
| Levels 4-5 | Yorick | At 6 his Maiden of the Mist floods the wave with ghouls one Q cannot clear, and the W bone wall sets up an all-in your Inspire shield cannot survive. |
| Level 6 | Yorick | His first-item health and Maiden scaling outpace your AP spike, so RQ stops chunking him and he zones you off the wave. |
| First item | Yorick | He hard-scales: Maiden plus the W (Dark Procession) wall plus the ghoul swarm win every side-lane 1v1 while your thin frame has no real late spike. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Yorick's splitpush only grows — health, Maiden, and his cage all-in mean dueling him is a loss, and your value drifts entirely to grouped fights he can't attend. |
Your one honest window is the first two or three levels. Open with RQ Soulflare for the delayed damage zone and slow, then layer Q (Inner Flame) pokes while his ghoul economy is still weak and Maiden doesn't exist yet. The moment he hits 3 and has E (Mourning Mist), respect it hard — it marks and slows you and his ghouls leap onto the mark, so eating one E is a free trade you cannot win. Last-hit at max Q range; do not walk into ghoul range to throw a skillshot, because Gathering Fire only rebuilds your Mantra if you can land hits, and his mark zones you off that.
