Swain is a mana-hungry, immobile mage just like you — but you out-range him and you have Mantra up at level 1. His whole early offence is landing that E pull into W Vision of Empire and Q; if you sidestep the E, his combo is dead and you just keep chipping. Trade Q for Q and you win every exchange because Gathering Fire shaves your Mantra cooldown each time you hit him, so RQ comes back fast.
