He wants the same close-range brawl — your E grit-armor decides who actually wins it.
Track: Pantheon's W — Shield Vault (13–9s cooldown). Point-and-click stun — respect the all-in any time it is up.
Read from Graves's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Pantheon.
This is Graves's own plan; across 3,418 pooled games the lane is leaning Pantheon.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Pantheon | Pantheon's no-aim point-click W stun into a Comet Spear bullies your level 1 — you have one ability, no E charges to escape, and a 4-shell magazine that forces a reload mid-trade. |
| Level 2 | Pantheon | He still edges levels 1-2 with W-into-spear burst, and Aegis Assault (E) blocks the shells you fire into his front before your combo exists — stay out of W range. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Even at 3: your full E-W-Q arrives and the smoke slows him, but Comet Spear out-ranges it and Aegis Assault soaks any shells fired into his front, so it's a coin-flip skirmish. |
| Levels 4-5 | Graves | True Grit armor and MR compound as E charges refresh off your autos, so you out-sustain his front-loaded poke in any extended fight. |
| Level 6 | Graves | Collateral Damage adds a point-blank nuke that finishes a skirmish lead, while his level-6 R is a global roam tool, not a 1v1 power spike. |
| First item | Graves | Your Eclipse first-item spike is peak duel power and Pantheon is already starting to fall off into items. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | He's hard front-loaded and fades while you stay a strong item-spiked skirmisher — even on paper, but his global Grand Starfall lets a fed Pantheon swing other lanes. |
Pantheon's level 1-2 is the scary part — his W is a point-click dash-stun he doesn't have to aim, and he chains it into a Comet Spear to burst you before you have any E charges to dash away, and your 4-shell magazine forces awkward reloads if you trade back blind. Don't walk into his W range to last-hit early; soak a little spear poke and farm with the tip of End of the Line. Once you hit level 3 with Q, W and E, the lane flips: E in for the point-blank shell spread, drop your W cloud on him so the blind shuts off his passive-empowered autos, and your sustained burst beats his poke. Note the blind does NOT stop his Q spear or W stun — those are abilities — so it only denies his auto-attack damage in a brawl.
