How to win lane as Gnar against Urgot · 49.46% win rate over 465 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Gnar | Mini's ranged autos and one Boomerang win the first trade — Urgot is immobile and can't punish the poke. |
| Level 2 | Gnar | Your level-2 third Hyper hit plus a Boomerang lands a free chunk he has no dash to answer or trade back. |
| Level 3 | Gnar | You kite him with Boomerang's slow and Hyper's move-speed burst while he has no gap-closer to reach you. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Form RNG decides the mid-lane window — a full-Rage Mega Wallop wins, but a Mini window into his E flip plus percent-HP legs loses. |
| Level 6 | Urgot | His R suppresses, drags and executes a spell-less level-6 Mini Gnar, a real ult edge versus your fragile form. |
| First item | Urgot | His W shotgun legs deal percent-max-HP and, once he has a bruiser item, out-DPS even your Mega bulk in a standstill. |
| Two+ items | Urgot | A tanky Urgot's sustained percent-HP legs win the confined 1v1 lane fight where you can't kite him out. |
Urgot has no dash and a slow base attack windup, so abuse the range: Mini autos plus one Boomerang win the level-1 trade because he can't gap-close to answer your harass. At 2, your third Hyper hit (bonus magic damage and the speed burst) plus a Boomerang is a free chunk he can't trade back — land it, then shove. The one rule is never sit inside his W shotgun-leg range; those legs deal percent-max-HP and a face-up DPS fight is exactly the lane he wants. Boomerang-slow him, kite out with Hyper's move speed, and keep the poke coming from outside leg range.
