Sylas owns the opening levels — his Q chain-lash out-ranges your Colossal Smash poke and his Kingslayer W refunds any trade, while you have no engage until Justice Punch comes up, so concede early CS and last-hit with the tip of Winds of War. By Level 3 you can flip a single window: when he dashes in with E, channel Shield of Durand and release the taunt as he commits, then Justice Punch him so his Kingslayer trade lands into your magic-amplified damage reduction. Respect his E though — it is a dash plus a return chain-pull stun, so if you blow your taunt on the first dash he can still pull you, and you've wasted your only answer.
