Shen is one of the cleaner early lanes you get — at levels 1-3 he has no Spirit's Refuge uptime to spare and his Ki Barrier shield is too small to absorb your Vital chip, so your Q-Lunge pokes and the level 2-3 E combo (slowing auto into guaranteed-crit Vital) chunk his % max-HP true damage in hard. The one thing to respect is Shadow Dash: don't walk into his taunt with Lunge on cooldown, because the taunt locks you in place and lets him auto you for free. Hold Riposte (W) for that taunt dash specifically — parrying an immobilize turns the return into a stun and flips the trade entirely.
