How to win lane as Cho'Gath against K'Sante · 48.82% win rate over 381 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Both of us are weak level-1 melees with no combo yet — start Q, last-hit safe, and don't give him a wall to charge me into. |
| Level 2 | K'Sante | His W charge stuns me into terrain while reducing the damage he takes, letting him trade onto me before my sustain exists — this stage is his. |
| Level 3 | K'Sante | He out-trades me here: W reduction eats my Vorpal Spikes and Rupture and his Q-strike keeps him on me, so I concede and farm the tip of my Q. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Carnivore sustain and Vorpal Spikes waveclear stabilize me and his early pressure fades — neither of us clearly owns the trade now. |
| Level 6 | Cho'Gath | Feast is true damage that ignores the bonus resists his passive stacks — my execute deters his All Out and finally threatens a real kill. |
| First item | Cho'Gath | Heartsteel/Sunfire plus Feast stacks make me the sticky bruiser whose long trade his one W charge can't sponge through. |
| Two+ items | K'Sante | At 2+ items All Out sheds his resists and isolates me through a wall, and his fighter form out-duels my HP stacking one-on-one — he scales past me. |
Levels 1-3 belong to him, not me — I'm slow and short-ranged with no sustain edge yet, and his W charge into a wall stuns me while the same charge cuts the damage he takes, so he can step on and trade before Carnivore and Vorpal Spikes come online. Don't throw a lazy Rupture into his W charge — it just gets soaked; hold it and only commit Q-W once that charge is spent. Soak with the tip of my Q, eat a little chip, and remember his early is real but it doesn't snowball if I never eat the wall-stun.
