Don't chase him through his own poison or facecheck for a free Q; instead farm with Q's empowered hit and wait for him to step up to last-hit, then E-stun in and re-cast Q for the true-damage second tick. His poison trail can't out-trade your Passive shield plus Q burst at this stage, but the instant you over-extend he Flings you into nothing and walks away.
