How to win lane as Aurora against Trundle · 52.38% win rate over 42 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Trundle | His Chomp bite is built to steal attack damage and out-trade melee, and inside his Frozen Domain his speed lets him stick before your Q is a threat — respect level 1 and hold spacing. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | Trundle out-sustains a melee trade with his Frozen Domain and passive while you only have one spell up — neither of you converts here, so poke and back off rather than commit. |
| Level 3 | Aurora | Twofold Hex's out-and-back recast plus The Weirding lets you chip from outside Chomp range while Spirit Abjuration heals you through his drain — your poke wins this level. |
| Levels 4-5 | Aurora | Your ranged poke, passive sustain, and Across the Veil cooldown align and he has no ranged answer or ult yet — own the zone and force him off CS. |
| Level 6 | Aurora | Still your window at 6: Across the Veil and Between Worlds let you dodge his Pillar-into-Subjugate all-in and keep poking, and his sustain can't outrun your spirit-heal yet. |
| First item | Even / skill | Your Luden's-class spike sharpens the poke, but if Across the Veil is down his pillar-trap can still catch you — it's a coinflip on whose tool lands first. |
| Two+ items | Trundle | A two-item Trundle out-sustains your poke and his Pillar-into-Subjugate steals your armor and MR in the long fight — refuse the extended drain and let your team deal with him. |
Trundle's Chomp steals attack damage, which is nearly dead weight against an AP mage, so his early trades lean on the Frozen Domain move/attack-speed zone and his passive heal rather than burst — at level 1 he can still walk you down inside that circle, so hold spacing until your kit comes online. Once you have Twofold Hex, chip him with the out-and-back recast and The Weirding from outside Chomp range and let Spirit Abjuration heal you off the spirits you exorcise. The one thing that ends you is Pillar of Filth: it walls your retreat and lets him pin you in melee, so never poke from a spot where a pillar can trap you against terrain.
