How to win lane as Blitzcrank against Swain · 49.87% win rate over 1,570 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Even / skill | Level 1 is even: you both threaten CC, and landing your skillshot before his W root decides the trade. |
| Level 2 | Even / skill | At 2 your all-in only wins if you've dodged Nevermove, so it's a skill coin flip. |
| Level 3 | Even / skill | Level 3 stays even — his E-poke and root trade evenly with your Grab windows. |
| Levels 4-5 | Even / skill | Through 4-5 his sustain answers your all-ins unless you land a clean hook, keeping it skill-based. |
| Level 6 | Even / skill | At 6 Static Field burst and Demonic Ascension heal cancel out; ult timing decides it. |
| First item | Even / skill | Post-first-item both spike, so trades come down to who lands CC first. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Late it's execution-dependent: a landed Grab kills him, a missed one lets his AoE sustain win. |
This is a pure skill lane from level 1: both of you want to land your point-and-click-adjacent CC first. You threaten Rocket Grab (Q), but Swain's Nevermove (W) is a delayed AoE root that punishes you if you Grab into it, and his Vision of Empire (E) zones your step-ups. At 2 you can all-in with Overdrive (E) plus Power Fist (W), but only if you've dodged his root — otherwise he roots and kites you. Don't facecheck brush; the player who lands their skillshot first wins the trade.
