How to win lane as Mel against Syndra · 43.78% win rate (7,227 Emerald+ games, lolalytics, sampled July 2026) · Matchup data reviewed on patch 26.15
Your W makes her poke a liability — reflect the rotation she built her lane around and volley the confusion.
Track: Syndra's E — Scatter the Weak (Stun, 15s cooldown). The QE stun cone starts every kill combo — stay off the line between her and her orbs.
Read from Mel's seat: which stage windows this plan plays for against Syndra.
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Syndra | At level 1 Syndra's Q already out-ranges and out-damages your Radiant Volley, losing you the poke war. |
| Level 2 | Syndra | At level 2 she keeps chipping and shoving you with Q while you can't safely trade back. |
| Level 3 | Syndra | At level 3 her Q-E scatter stun out-ranges you and dictates the lane. |
| Levels 4-5 | Syndra | Through levels 4-5 her poke and QE setup keep you pinned and giving ground. |
| Level 6 | Syndra | At 6 three-plus spheres plus Unleashed Power is a point-blank execute you can't survive in range. |
| First item | Syndra | On her first item her burst spike lets her one-shot your full combo. |
| Two+ items | Even / skill | Late, she out-ranges, out-pokes, and out-bursts you, so only Rebuttal windows keep you alive. |
Levels 1-2 already favour her and the chart is red top to bottom. Syndra's Q out-ranges your Radiant Volley and hurts more per cast, so you cannot win the straight poke war. Farm at max range, use minions to block her Q, and stack Searing Brilliance passively rather than stepping up to trade. Your one saving tool is Rebuttal: hold it to reflect her Q and deny the free harass. Give ground early rather than feeding her a lead.
