How to win lane as Fizz against Vex · 51.44% win rate over 1,835 Emerald+ games · Updated 2026-07-27
| Stage | Favoured | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | Vex | Vex's Personal Space passive punishes your dash-heavy engage kit hard at level 1, giving her the early trade favour |
| Level 2 | Vex | Her Mistral Bolt poke continues to outpace your trading tools at level 2 |
| Level 3 | Vex | Level 3 still favours Vex as her passive fear threat scales with her cooldowns coming back faster than your kit matures |
| Levels 4-5 | Vex | Levels 4-5 remain hers since she can safely poke while you lack a way to engage without eating a fear |
| Level 6 | Fizz | Fizz's ult grants mobility and burst that finally lets you punish her cooldowns, swinging level 6 back to you |
| First item | Fizz | With your ult and rotations online you out-scale her poke-only kit into the 2-item mark |
| Two+ items | Fizz | Your burst combo overtakes her lane pressure once a core item is complete, sealing the late-game favour in your court |
Vex's Personal Space passive fears you the instant you dash within range, which directly punishes Playful/Trickster and E-jump engages, so before level 6 you need to farm with auto-attacks and Seastone procs rather than diving in recklessly. She'll poke you down with Mistral Bolt and look to stack passive charges for a fear-into-burst combo, and without your full kit online you don't have a great answer to that pressure. Play patient, ward for her jungler, and avoid overextending into uncontested Q poke.
